Success does not change destiny, which finally reveals itself as a calling, the exhausting calling of an introverted, slow and difficult artist, whose assemblage work seems to be his own emblem: to go back, in solitude, to the fragment of something that was discarded from use, in order to rediscover it as an essential part of a different order of meaning, at once perfect and mysterious. […]

For a long time Colla searched for this order and this meaning by building his structures with a careful compositional work, discovering secret joints, junctures and connections in the wear and tear and in the signs of time that mark his finds.
