Mixed lot (5 items): Silver jewellery from Afghanistan and India. - Tribal Art

1: Two spiral bangles from Afghanistan. Made of quality silver, in the form of spiral snakes (king cobras). Each with a snake’s head decorated with green and red glass stones at the end of the spiral. The glass stones are partly lost. H: 11.5 cm and 13 cm.
2: A silver bracelet covered in six double, round and closed amulet containers. With hook-and-eye closure. From the Federal States of Rajasthan or Bihar in India. DM: 9 cm (on the outside), 6 cm (on the inside).
3: A pair of silver earrings. A type of ornament worn by Bhopa Rabari women in the Indian Federal State of Gujarat. The upper ring and the lower, large polyhedron of the both earrings are hollowed. In between these elements runs a silver spiral. A rare and beautiful pair. L: each 6 cm.
All five objects in this mixed lot display good, old traces of use. First half of the 20th century. (ME)
