A certificate by Dr Rainer Stüwe, Wilhelmsfeld, is available for the present painting. He compares it with a Still life with a goblet, fruits and glasses in a stone niche by Hinz at the Gemäldegalerie in Kassel. Stüwe: “The present painting is probably a studio work by (Johann) Georg Hinz from the period around 1670/80, possibly with the participation of Christian Berentz, whom Hinz was able to employ as a Hamburg mastercraftsman [...]”.
