Southwest Caucasus, c. 228 x 160 cm, about 1900, “tree carpet” from the Kazakh region in large format and rare red, rather than blue, background, classic cypress motifs facing each other in groups of three, with white central medallion, characteristic is the Shikli bird-and-merlon border, both ends original, consistently deep pile with some repairs.
