The work is from the author’s studio.
In 1999 he graduated from the AAAD from the studio of prof. Vladimír Kopecký. He subsequently won the Talent 2000 prize at the international fair of applied art in Munich in the category of glass. The usage of clear, aquamarine or ruby glass in simple geometric or organic shapes is characteristic for Filip Nízký.
The cycle of vegetable forms that the Leaf on offer is from was inspired by the morphology of plant shapes. The author observes them in nature and cuts them using the technique of delicate sharp notches with a wheel, making the surface seem like the structure of cell. A leaf, like glass, is characterized by firmness, as well as the opposite: fragility and transparency.
