West Turkestan, c. 196 x 154 cm, late 19th century, the Saryk Ensi can be unequivocally identified on the grounds of their striking pattern arrangement, the present carpet is preserved in an exceptionally good condition with consistently full, deep pile wool, the white areas are made of cotton, the original large side edges and lower kilim trim with folded weave at the upper end have also survived.
