Provenance: private collection, Vienna;
German private collection.

The two present paintings represent the respective panels of an alter wing divided into a side for weekdays and one for holidays. Saint Eucharius, who is rarely depicted, was the first bishop of Trier and is still venerated as the town’s patron saint.
