A brass casket lavishly decorated in relief, Würtembergische Metallwarenfabrik, c. 1906 - Jugendstil and 20th Century Arts and Crafts

brass, copper; two sides decorated with battle scenes in relief; the cover with four female and male heads in relief; bow for carrying; with key; the inside and bottom made of wood; engraved on the facing side: “Ehrengabe der Rohrschützengesellschaft des k. k. priv. Landeshauptschiesstandes in Laibach anlässlich des Offizierspreisschiessens der k. k. Gebirgsregimenter in Laibaich vom 17. bis 24. Mai 1912”; traces of use; height 25.7 cm, length 24.2 cm, depth 16 cm. (MP) Literature: Würtembergische Metallwarenfabrik, The English Catalogue 1906, p. 299, no. 204, there mentioned as "Jewel Casket" (silver plated).
