South Persia (Iran), c. 162 x 160 cm, end of the 19th century, fine silk embroidery on cotton ground, border with boteh patterns developing in all four directions towards the black field and the circular medallion, square-shaped textiles such as the present one are also called “moon shawl” precisely because of this medallion, well-preserved with silk decorative fringe all around.
