Chest with drawers in Transition style, - Works of Art

2nd half of the 19th century. Made in hardwood and softwood, with cabriole legs, veneered in mahogany and various fine woods such as tulipwood and amaranth, as well as burlwood, with marquetry latticework, and lavish geometric marquetry patterning on the top, the front decorated with a porcelain medallion and bouquet of flowers, to the right a lateral door enclosing 3 mahogany drawers, and with bronze mounts. Ca. 87.5 x 87.5 x 49 cm. In restored condition. (DOC)
