Italy (Tuscany) originally 18th century. An elegant serpentine softwood structure on an ebonised plinth base, decorated with perspectival cube marquetry in various fine woods such as tulipwood and maple, with figural motifs on both sides, 2 hinged lids, 1 door and later bronze mount. Ca. 87 x 52 x 50 cm. In restored condition, with recent dryness cracks and small wood parts restored. (DOC)
