After two series of surface-treated corrugated sheet metal discs, Xaver Sedelmeier has recently created a third one: “Ceramics”. In contrast to the two previous development stages of the discs, the new series focusses on a real transformation, transferring the shape of the corrugated sheet metal discs to ceramic. Although the objects preserve their undulating bodies, they no longer have their original material surface, thus gaining a different aesthetic dimension. All that remains of the metal is the form. The ceramic mass gives the objects a new identity.
