1953 Fiat 500 C Giardiniera Belvedere

1953 Fiat 500 C Giardiniera Belvedere - Classic Cars

This car competed in the Mille Miglia 2015!

As early as 1936, Fiat launched an ingenuously engineered small car on the market that soon earned its popular nickname, the Topolino. The significantly modernised 500 C was introduced in 1949, along with an estate car with doors and side panelling that was made of wood until it was replaced with an all-steel body in 1953. Very few wooden Topolinos have survived, so they are coveted items.

This Topolino came to Austria in 2002 when its owner moved here from England. It received confirmation of conformity and registration for the Austrian market. The Fiat was extensively refurbished over the years, as confirmed in numerous photos. It was even fitted with opulent seat covers made of leather. It was purchased by the consignor in 2013, and took part in the world’s largest vintage car rally, the Mille Miglia, in 2015. An accredited entrant, its widespread popularity ensured that it was given one of the hotly contested starting slots at its first attempt. The Topolino emerged from this ‘race’ with a FIVA inspection and a technical overhaul. Together with the huge folding roof, the combination of painted wood and green leather give the car a very special, Mediterranean flair. Travellers feel on holiday the minute they get in. This heart warmer has been submitted for auction with a fresh toll-road sticker and is therefore ready for the summer!
