(1797-1858) Masaki atari yori Suijin no mori Uchikawa Sekiya no sato o miru zu (A View of Suijin Grove from the Neighbourhood of Masaki), nishiki-e (coloured woodblock print), signed Hiroshige ga, publisher Uoya Eikichi, date covered by passepartout, according to MAK, Vienna 1857, aratame censor seal. According to information supplied by MAK, Vienna, this sheet depicts a view from the first floor of the Kinoeneya (?) restaurant, overlooking a peninsula surrounded by the rivers Sumida and Uchi. In the background, Mount Tsukuba with its two peaks. The blossoming plum tree in front of the window and the camellias in the vase (left) indicate spring, stained (lower right in the flowering branches and above the left cartouche as well as under the sailboat), backed lower and upper margin, visible traces of metal dust, very good print and colours, slightly trimmed, cf. sheet no. 201-1385, Waseda, Tokyo, mounted at upper margin, 35.8 x 24.3 cm (sheet size), mounted, framed ,(CT)
