Provenance:
Collection of the conductor Hans Swarowsky (1899–1975);
Private collection, Vienna

In 1786, Lampi painted a life-size portrait of Prince Kaunitz (Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienna). The bozzetto for this portrait is in the Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan.
