An elephant trunk table, design: Adolf Loos (in collaboration with Max Schmidt/Werkmeister Berka), around 1900, execution: Kunsttischlerei Friedrich Otto Schmidt, Vienna - Jugendstil and 20th Century Arts and Crafts

eight-legged construction; mahogany, solid and veneered, brown-stained; with 16 green tiles; brass sabots and brass outline of table; tiles partly with minor chipping; signs of age and use; height: 64 cm, diameter: 84.5 cm. (MP)
