An Elegant Salon Table from France, - Furniture; works of art; glass and porcelain

by cabinet-maker LOUIS CUEUNIÔRES (called Jeune Cueunières), crafted in the late 19th century after a model by ROGER VANDERCRUSE dit LACROIX, mahogany and rosewood veneer, grid-like and floral marquetry with diverse precious woods, one drawer, one middle shelf, gilt bronze fittings and openwork top edging, the underside with brand mark J CUEUNIERES EBENISTE, 76 x 79 x 36.5 cm, in beautiful professionally restored condition. LOUIS CUEUNIÔRES (called JEUNE CUEUNIÔRES) In 1870 he took over the studio of his father Jean-Jules. Thanks to the excellent quality of his works, he quickly made a name for himself, becoming one of the most important Parisian cabinet-makers of the last quarter of the XIX century. He built his furniture after models of the great masters of the Louis XVI era such as Weisweiler, Vandercruse and Riesener.
