The relationship to nature is the breeding ground for the art of Karl Plattner, the painter born in 1919 in Vinschgau in South Tyrol. Nevertheless, still lifes of things are rare in his oeuvre, in which nothing is left to chance. This fine painting of a branch full of ripe apples follows this artistic attitude: a structured application of colour on monochrome surfaces, interspersed with fine, vibrating lines plays with the laws of gravity and conveys calmness and tension at the same time.
