The present sheet is a preparatory study for the painting “Two character heads” (ca. 1680-90) by Giovanni Antonio Burrini, which is kept in the Museo Civico d'Arte, in Modena.

The attribution was confirmed by Prof. Daniele Benati by means of a high resolution digital photograph.
