male idol with movable head, tongue and hands, a seated Chinese man dressed with a garb decorated with Indian flowers, a gilt collar and blue sabots, with delicately decorated eyes and hair, porcelain, polychromed and gilt, metal mount, measurements c. 31 x 30 x 30 cm, model by Johann Joachim Kaendler as of 1730, blue crossed swords mark and incised model number 2883, minor firing crack to the upper lip and and the garb edge at the back, minor scuffing to the gilt décor, chipping to the right earlobe, (GO)
