The Temple of Venus was constructed in the third century AD and is distinguishable from all other Baalbek Temples by its unique characteristics and features, earning it the title of the Temple of Fortune of Baalbek. During the Byzantine Era, the temple was converted into a church and dedicated to Saint Barbara, who is still revered as the patron saint of Baalbek today.
