Jozsef Borsos - vendere e comprare opere

21 December 1821 Veszprém (Hungary) - 19 August 1883, Budapest (Hungary)

The Hungarian portrait painter and photographer Jozsef Borsos studied in Budapest and subsequently at Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts from 1840 until 1842. This period saw the development of his good reputation as an artist. From the 1850s onwards, he mainly painted Biedermeier genre scenes characterised by a graceful and harmonious composition. His works were particularly well received by Hungarian patrons. For this reason, Borsos returned to Hungary, where he remained until the end of his days.
