Rare model of a Viennese strongbox from the period circa 1870,
Produced by the firm Wertheim & Miese. An iron strongbox with approx. 6 cm thick sides, with a painted surface after the French style, ornately painted and with mother-of-pearl inlays depicting birds and flowers, with an original 3-bar lock and a later key. Ca. 27 x 50 x 37 cm. Set on a modern matching iron support. Total height 76 cm. Some ageing and with a fine patina. (PZ)
