The Madonna and Child with Saints Elizabeth and Joachim and an angel,
inscribed (on a slip of paper attached to the wall): Marinus me fecit ao. 1538,
oil on panel, 86 x 127 cm, framed
Peter van den Brink, whom we thank for his assistance, believes that the present painting is based on an unknown work by the Master of the Prodigal Son (active in Antwerp circa 1530–60).
