Mixed lot (3 pieces), India, Morocco: 3 necklaces made of silver, some with coral. - Tribal Art

1: India: a necklace made of fine woven silver wire in two hanks, part of which is braided. With four filigree decorative spheres, each set with two red coral pieces. The larger of the hollow filigree decorative spheres is the necklace’s pendant. This sphere also features additional small lozenges made of gold. Length: 26 cm (the chain closed).

2: Morocco: a necklace made of silver in a style that would also be used as a connecting chain between two robe fibulae. With two conical, pointed pentagonal silver pendants at each end, engraved with leafy tendrils. These pendants each have three pierced red coral pieces (at the top) as well as silver coins and other small silver pendants (at the bottom). This chain was probably just positioned around the neck and fastened simply by knotting the pendants at the front. Length: c. 76 cm (the chain open).

3: A necklace made of a hank of woven flat silver rings (intertwined smooth rings and textured rings). With a pendant with a central flower, fruits and leaves. Made entirely of high-quality silver. Length: c. 52 cm (the chain closed). (ME)

Provenance: Viennese private collection.
