A half globe sewing table,
2nd half of the 19th century. Made in cherry and burl elm veneer, with marquetry ornament, also decorated with bronze mounts, set on a tripod support, with a hinged lid on the half globe body, a pull-out fitted interior with spools, lidded compartments and secret compartments. Height 75 cm, diameter 46 cm. Some heavy ageing and evidence of repair. (PZ)
