We are grateful to Laurens Schoemaker of the RKD, The Hague, for suggesting the rare landscapist J. Op't Wat.
The present painting is registered in the RKD database under no. 1001171000. A comparable work was sold at Kinsky Auktionen, Vienna, on 21 April 2010 as lot 61.
