Fama, the Roman goddess of fame blowing her trumpet, holding a quill pen in her right hand and musical score on her knees, she is seated on a stony base, beneath which dome and sides with pierced branches in flower, fine and wide gilt rims, and small and large colourful sculptural floral tendrils, to the obverse sits the Polish crowned white eagle with wings open on a gilt rocaille, beneath which, light turquoise and light purple-accented leaf rocailles, movement with ‘bronze doré’ frame, gilt Roman numerals and hands on a white clock face, to the right sits a genius on a large, draping purple cloth with gilt-painted leaf and floral tendrils, a rose in her hair and in her right hand, to the left, Cupid holding an orb and embracing an amorette, beneath which a genius with palm of peace facing a Roman soldier holding a military baton in his right hand, to the centre, polychrome-painted coat-of-arms framed by shells and palm leaves, 4 gilt-accented volute feet, porcelain, height 59 cm, base with fine and wide gilt rims, brightly painted strewn flowers, insects and floral bouquets, 4 gilt, light turquoise and light purple-accented volute feet with large flowers, height in total 71 cm, Fama loosely mounted, some restoration, functioning, pendulum included, Meissen, underglaze blue sword mark circa 1860, model nos 452, 572, former nos 97, 97, red painter nos 28, 28 (Ru)
