Jan Šimek - puppet maker working in East and Northeast Bohemia. His father Rudolf Šimek was a famous travelling puppeteer. He had woodcarver Jindřich Adámek of Dobruška make the largest puppets in Austro-Hungarian Empire which were 100 cm tall. His great-grandfather Václav Šimek was granted permission for a puppet theatre in 1859.

Jindřich Adámek (1974 - around 1950) - designer of 9 puppets in this set. Well known puppet carver, the figures in this set are the largest examples of his work.
Karel Krob - folk carver from Kročehlavy u Kladna. Around 1930 he made 12 large heads for Jan Šimek, this collection includes three puppets with these heads (old nobleman, knight and highwayman).
