colourless glass, the curving body with gilt edging and delicate gilt painted grape leaf and grape border, bearing the gilt painted dedication "Seht Freunde, seht die arme Fliege hier, Sie sah den Wein im Glase blinken, Sie sank herab, Und fand ihr Grab, Und trank den Tod wo wir das Leben trinken" (Look at the poor fly, my friends, It saw the wine sparkling in the glass, she tumbled down and found her grave, And she drank death where we drink life.), the bottom right bearing the gilt signature F. L. F. pinx, wide gilt edging, cogwheeled Ranft on a silver yellow band, the base with painted fly, height: 10,7 cm, Fürchtegott Leberecht Fischer (1866-1954), Vienna, glass painter, ca. 1894 workshop for glass and porcelain painting, in Vienna (Ru)
