“Color Blind Date II”, designed and manufactured by PRINZpod,

“Color Blind Date II”, designed and manufactured by PRINZpod, - Design

Austria, 2015, wooden legs, plywood, multi-coloured pigment paint glazing, all signed and dated: PRINZgau 2015 and signet, three parts: height 41 cm, 60 x 62 cm; height 40.5 cm, 37 x 37 cm; height 39.5 cm, 33 x 33 cm. (DRAX)

Unique specimens.

It is the fulfilment of everyday needs PRINZpod ask from their design objects. Their new stools series “blind color date” varies in terms of material and form, and, being part of an ensemble of seats, table, and bed, cover a vast array of possible functions.

In line with the time-tested principle of wood, colour, piano hinge, and screw, “blind color date” pushes to the fore under the slogan: analogue furniture design as a theme of discourse. Yet in fact these objects make a pleasantly inconspicuous appearance. Respectable pieces of furniture regardless whether they are used individually or as a group, the stools expertly strike the keys of minimalism.

PRINZpod have been working as a duo since 1984, in a crossover of various artistic media. Conceptualism, art in public space, installation, photography, film, design, and architecture have been the areas of their decade-long collaboration. Viewing individual objects from the perspectives of both connex and classic design has played an essential role in their work.
