After studying at the Glassmaking Secondary Professional School in Světlá na Sázavou, Jaroslav Wasserbauer worked as a glass cutter in the Bohemia Glassworks in Josefodol and later with Jaroslav Svoboda in Škrdlovice. Since 1988, he has had his own studio in Ždár nad Sázavou, where he works primarily with the technique of fused sculpture. He work can be divided into several cycles freely inspired by natural motifs. He finds them in fossils, natural structures and crystals. In his work, he uses effects of color and light shining through, while contrasts between soft and crystal-feeling surfaces are also characteristic. The Window sculpture is an example of his most recent work, which is going in the direction of geometrical abstraction.
