Lit.: VEB Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen, p. 1-2, The musicians of the "Galante Kapelle" orchestra were created between 1750 and 1760 by Johann Joachim Kändler and Friedrich Elias Meyer. The charming rendering of the solo artists and the graceful way in which they handle their instruments conveys a fine image of the music-loving 18th century. Meissen artists of the period could easily find live models for their gallant figures at the Dresden Opera, world famous even then.
