Two bangles of the Naga people, formerly head hunters, who live on either side of the border between India and Burma. Both arm cuffs are thinly crafted, become slightly conical in form, and are made of brass executed with ‘waste mould’ casting. Both are of the same ornament type, with attractive patterning of braids and lines.
Both objects display good, old usage patina (interior). Only minor casting defects.
First half of the 20th century or earlier; H.: 9.5 cm and 8 cm; DM: each 6.2 cm (above) and 8 cm (below). (ME)
