Provenance: Private property, Berlin. We are grateful to Dr. Olga Sugrobova-Roth for the scientific support. The drawing was presumably executed during the elaboration of the theme „Fleamarket in Moskow“. A composition of the theme was presented by the artist at the eighth exhibition of the cooperative of traveling exhibtions in 1880. (Todays whereabouts are unknown; diverse studies and sketches for the painting are preservedin the Tretjakow Gallery, in the State Russian Museum Museum and in the National Gallery in Minsk.)
