Josef Mickl is a realist, an objectivist in all creations yet not ashamed of this, for he despises the fashionable; he has always focused on the structures of the human body, always the rules of a landscape; there a greater focus on the representational than the character of the occasional. He forces confrontations and demands interpretation. Everything is there, it only needs to be discovered, developed and completed....
