A rare fireside chair,
designed by Egon Eiermann * in 1932/40, manufactured by Otto Judersleben, Berlin 1940, ash, solid wood, cotton strap mesh, steel, height 75 cm, width 71 cm, depth 95 cm. (DR)
Eiermann designed the basic model of this chair in 1932 for the exhibition "Das wachsende Haus" (The Growing House) in Berlin. In 1940 he had the design rebuilt, with minimal changes, for his own home in Berlin.
Provenance: Wohnung Egon Eiermann, Berlin, from 1940 onwards.
This chair is illustrated in: Egon Eiermann. Die Möbel, Badisches Landesmuseum, Karlsruhe 1999, p. 53.
