The author studied at the Glass Studio at the AAAD in Prague first under Stanislav Libenský, Jaroslav Svoboda and then Vladimír Kopecký, graduating in 1990. The focal point of her work is in the 1990s, when she focused on the technique of fused sculpture. Her approach to glass is best characterized by Sylva Petrová: “Anna Matoušková caught people’s attention in the atmosphere of the postmodern and expressive opinions of her colleagues with a tendency toward the geometry of fused glass. Her fused objects encourage you to concentrate on the core of their arrangement in the intangible center of the object and reveal elements of immaterial spirituality.”
