The author studied in South Korea at the University of Sungshin in Seoul in the Faculty of Sculpture. She then continued her studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in prof. V Kopecký’s studio. She works primarily with glass, which she enjoys combining with other materials. Her works are narrative and reflect topics from the history of Korea as well as everyday experience. The vases on offer adapt in an original way the Japanese legend about crocodile Jake, who cannot easily be seen, but appears to people sometimes in their everyday lives. When they see Jake, they immediately realize things that have long been concealed, and by appearing to them he offers them a turning point in their lives. In reality, Jake does not exist, but his symbolic existence rouses the inner strength to change oneself.
