A German ‘Urpfund’
according to the Royal Prussian Law of 16 May 1856, copy made by the Königliche Normaleichungscommission in Berlin, gilt brass, engraved "Urpfund / 1856.", calibrated with the Prussian eagle and "N EICH / COMISS" in an oval, stamped "D." and on the bottom "B", weight 500.0 g. In original mahogany case with lock and key (made by TH. BAUMANN).
Provenance:
Manufactured after the platinum kilogram made by Fortin Paris in the Royal Prussian Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Public Works. Presumably for the Standard Calibration Commission of the Austrian Empire. Collection of Dr. Gerhard Eiselmayr No. 924a.
