An early model of this design, manufactured by the silversmith of Danish court jeweller A. Michelsen. The cutlery set, which was originally used in the restaurant of the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, was later produced in series by Georg Jensen. Because of its avant-gardist form, Stanley Kubrick had his astronauts eat with it in his science fiction movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
