We are grateful to Dr. Anna Orlando for the attribution. Malò was a student of Rubens in Antwerp and was most successful as a painter when he sojourned in Italy. In terms of influence, the present painting can be compared to Rubens’s Death of Dido in the Louvre in Paris.
