probably originally part of a wall decoration at the Benedictine monastery of Göttweig in Lower Austria;
Southern German private collection.

The present painting is comparable to eight panels by the hand of Kremser Schmidt for a cabinet originally in the charterhouse of Aggsbach, Lower Austria (see R. Feuchtmüller, op. cit., pp. 386/87, nos. 178/1–8).
