Jaff bag face,


West Persia (Iran), c. 80 x 120 cm, end of the 19th century, bag face of a former Khordjin knotted in horizontal format by Jaff Kurds, used for transporting or storing household items, as a result of their soft pile wool and magnificent colours these pieces are popular collectables, in most cases these bags display a characteristic field pattern with a dense repeat of hooked rhombi, the present item has a unique design and is one of the top pieces in this group on the grounds of of its superb condition, lower end with woven finish, upper fastening strap and back part no longer present, minor flaw on the lower left kilim edge.
