Stamped P. SORMANI. Made in a modified Transition style at the end of the 19th century. An especially fine quality oak cabinet veneered in rosewood, of serpentine form, with 2 doors further decorated with marquetry flowers against a star-veneered ground in various fine woods, with rounded angles and brass fluting, a rich heavy bronze mount and a 3.5 cm thick moulded marble top, stamped SORMANI PARIS 4 times, the lock plate also engraved P. SORMANI, 10 rue Charlot Paris. Ca. 131 x 144 x 50 cm. In restored condition.
