porcelain, cylindrical sides with edented opening, golden inside edge, fine and wide gold edges as well as white laurel wreath border, at front a citharode with instrument in the left hand and plectrum in the right hand, crowned by a laurel wreath, is stepping onto the stage as a poet, at the right side a female winged genius, music, at the left side Hebe, she is holding two phials in her left hand, in the foreground Zeus is sitting with laurel wreath and Hera with stephane as royal headdress, she is holding a rod in her right hand, the reverse side featuring a large cithara framed by an aureola of stars, bisque porcelain on blue glazed ground, bulbous base of body with glossy golden ground, matte golden relief half flowers, rosettes and foliate branches, white handles with gold heightened foliate ends, white nodus and white fluted foot, gold-heightened, height 43.5 cm, one edge with restored hairline crack, Meißen, underglaze blue sword mark, around 1860, model O 11, O 23 cm, former number 20, model from Johann Daniel Schöne 1818 (Ru)
Hebe was the Greek goddess of flourishing youth, daughter of Zeus and Hera, cupbearer to the gods in the Olympus.
