An armchair, School of Adolf Loos,
first half of the 20th century, manufactured by Friedrich Otto Schmidt (attributed to), dainty solid mahogany construction, brass sabots, seat with leather covering and decorative nails, manchettes with exquisitely executed decoration. Height c. 75 cm, width c. 50 cm,
depth c. 50 cm, height of seat c. 46 cm. (MHA)
A very similar model was used by Adolf Loos. This was produced by the company F. O. Schmidt as a model Stössler. The armchair model has been modified for customers - in this respect also explains the ornamentation used in the armrests.
