Mixed lot (2 pieces), Morocco, Kenya: a necklace made of amber-coloured material (Morocco) and a bonnet made of colourful glass beads from the Rendille of northern Kenya. - Tribal Art

1: A necklace from Morocco comprising sixteen round polished beads made of amber-coloured material, probably an early form of plastic (bakelite?). With spacer beads made of white metal. Length: 26 cm (chain folded over).

2: A bonnet made of connected hanks of chains of red, yellow and brightly coloured glass beads. Set with a row of European mother of pearl buttons and seven British one-tenth penny colonial coins from the time of King George VI (minted between 1930 and 1949). Bonnets such as this one are worn by the women of the Rendille nomads of northern Kenya. Both objects in this mixed lot: First half of the 20th century. (ME)
