Mixed lot (3 pieces): Ethiopia, Dem. Rep. of Congo, Angola: tribes: Kambetta, Kuba, Chokwe: a neckrest, a knife and a decorative comb. - Tribal Art

1: A Kambetta neckrest from southern Ethiopia, in the typical shape. With a deeply curved surface supporting the neck and thin, board-shaped supporting struts decorated with geometric lines in relief. All carved from a single piece. An object with very good, old usage patina.
Height: c. 20 cm; width: 22 cm.

2: A double-edged knife of the Kuba from central Congo. The blade widens to the tip, which is rounded, and has a contrasting middle ridge. The round wooden hilt is wrapped with copper binding. A piece with good, very old usage patina. Length: 26 cm.

3: A decorative comb of the Chokwe people (Angola, Congo, Zambia). Carved out of wood and with a ‘Chokwe face’ depicted in openwork and lines in relief on both sides.
Height: 20 cm; width: 6.7 cm.

All three objects in this mixed lot have no considerable damage and have a good patina as a result of protracted use. First half of the 20th century. (ME)
