Gilt-bronze. To the centre in high relief, the Hindu goddess Durga as Mahishasuramardini, the destroyer of the demon bull, in pratyalidhasana standing on her lion and the demon bull, framed by her many arms, holding a variety of attributes, including weapons, wearing a dhoti and a coat of mail (?), an angry expression on her face; flanked by two terrifying divinities. Height: 17.5 cm. (BA)
